About This Project


Background:

An emerging automotive influencer who collaborates with a major automobile manufacturer in Dubai required the addition of a team member to assist with the storyboard, production, and filming of compelling videos for manufacturer social media channels.


Research:

1. Analysing automobile manufacturer strategies for certain models.
2. Knowing social media trends.
3. Storyboarding and scripting.
4. Filming with minimal gear.
5. Best shooting spot in the United Arab Emirates.


Solution & development:

I created numerous storyboards for this film based on the profile of the Volkswagen Golf GTI. I agreed with the influencer, and we were able to film in record time due to the fact that everything was outlined and agreed upon in the story plan. VW was pleased with the final product and shared it on their Instagram account, thereby increasing the video’s exposure. I further worked with the influencer and created more content for Volkswagen.

TAkeaway:

Understanding the effort behind 15-second videos with automotive influencers was eye-opening. It also allowed me to utilise my abilities as an industrial designer with design thinking in constructing the storyboard, timing, and execution. I learned various techniques for capturing a car’s emotion on film.
